Architects of culture: Shonda Rhimes and David Adjaye

Megastar showrunner Shonda Rhimes and world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye are pioneers in media and design, crafting culture and challenging the status quo. Over the past 15 years, Rhimes has taken over network television (and some of our lives) with her hit-making production company Shondaland and shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder. Named the World’s Most Influential Architect of 2017 by Time magazine, Adjaye has emerged as a leading cultural voice, most notably with the completion of the Smithsonian Museum of African American History in Washington D.C. Join them as they sit down with Thelma Golden, the director and chief curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem, to discuss overcoming adversity and censorship to forge cultural narratives that pave the way for future creatives.
